Mizoram Premier League: Bethlehem Vengthlang FC march on!

bethlehem-vengthlang-fc-ramhlun-north-fcBethlehem Vengthlang FC consolidated their claim for a place in the semifinals after disposing newcomers Ramhlun North FC in Round 11. The league leaders capitalising on a great run in the first phase, have all but guaranteed themselves of a place in the semifinals.

It was Bethlehem Vengthlang FC that threatened first in an evenly contested opening stage. Ramhlun North’s defenders blocking an effort resulting from Dinliana’s cross.

But Ramhlun North FC then began to run at their opponent’s backline time and again through new signing Francis Onyeama. BVT FC found it hard to cope with the pace and power of the industrious forward. He threatened on more than one occasion forcing a save twice from the goalkeeper and a goalline clearance.

BVT FC then got the lead on the 70th minute when P.C. Zosanga went down after a slight touch from goalkeeper Sangpuia and a penalty was awarded. Lalrammuanpuia the converted the spot kick.

Ramhlun North FC pressed on after going behind but could not find an equaliser. Striker Francis was a potent weapon indeed, but the fact that he lacked quality support played a big part in his side being unable to find a goal.

BVT FC then doubled their lead in the dying minutes when Lalmawizuala struck a beautiful effort from 30 yards out beyond the reach of the goalkeeper.

Bethlehem Vengthlang FC’s centerback P.C. Laldinpuia was named the Man of the Match.
