Mizoram Premier League: Chanmari FC seal three points against Ramhlun North FC!

Defending Mizoram Premier League champions Chanmari FC overcame a resilient Ramhlun North FC in the final fixture of round 4 of MPL6.

A goal from Vanlalbiaa Chhangte and a late own goal sealed all three points for the champions in a 2-0 victory with which they cemented their position as No.2 getting 10 points from four games.

A bright start from the champions saw flying winger Vanlalbiaa Chhangte miss a couple of chances early on. While Ramhlun North FC tested Chanmari FC’s goalkeeper Muanawma with an effort from Remruata.

Vanlalbiaa and Alex Whitemore continued to torment Ramhlun North FC’s backline while a header from Jacob struck the woodwork before halftime.

Chanmari FC finally struck soon after the restart with Vanlalbiaa netting a beautiful header from a fine delivery by Rochhingpuia. The nearly doubled their lead as Alex Whitemore missed a glorious opportunity shortly afterwards.

The champions may have created more openings but Ramhlun North FC almost made them pay for their profligacy in front of goal when Rosangliana fired just wide after facing goalkeeper Muanawma.

Chanmari FC then sealed all three points right at the end when Ramhlun North defender Lalfelpuia unintentionally put the ball in the back of the net.

Winger Vanlalbiaa Chhangte was named man of the match for his electrifying performance down the flanks.
