The final and 14th round of the Mizoram Premier League-5 saw plenty of action as a relegation playoff battle between Dinthar FC and Ramhlun North FC kicked things off.
The match began in a muted affair as strugglers Ramhlun North FC seemed content on sitting back against their opponents. Dinthar FC played with little to no pressure and it was evident. Stringing passes together and taking their time on the ball.
They came close through great efforts from Ruatpuia and Michael Lalremruata on a couple of occasions. Their opponents also had a chance through striker Francis Onyeama and also forced a goal line clearance in the first half.
The second half saw a more even battle between the teams but it was Dinthar FC that struck a blow after 66 minutes. Striker Michael Lalremruata was yet again Dinthar FC’s saviour as he headed in Samuel’s corner.
Ramhlun North FC did not look like they could come up with an equaliser although they would rue Zosangliana’s freekick that came close.
Goalscoring hero Michael Lalremruata was named the Man of the Match.
