Mizoram Premier League: Ramhlun North FC win against struggling Chhinga Veng FC!

mpl-ramhlun-north-fc-chhinga-veng-fcDay two of MPL5 action at Champhai saw newcomers Chhinga Veng FC and Ramhlun North FC battling each other for three points at Chhangphut Field today. An action packed second-half saw 10 man Ramhlun North FC come out on top in a 3-2 victory.

Both teams desperate for points started the game in a cautious manner with most of the action coming from the midfield battle between the two sides.

Chhinga Veng looked the more threatening of the two sides but in all fairness, the first half offered little in terms of scoring opportunities.

The second half saw two very different sides going at each other with Ramhlun North Fc threatening first through Thlamuana from a corner. But it was Chhinga Veng FC who drew first blood as Zonuna finished off a rebound from Khawpuimawia’s shot.

Ramhlun North FC then got an equaliser from the spot after a handball from substitute Thlate-a inside the penalty area. Mc-a duly converted the spot kick.

Chhinga Veng again then retook the lead through a beautiful free kick from Mk-a on the 83rd minute, rocketing home a beauty from 34 yards out. Credit to Ramhlun North FC, the showed character and spirit and got their equaliser after forcing an own goal from newly signed centerback Emma.

Ramhlun North FC then grabbed a winner in the third minute of stoppage time through an unmarked Ramdina lurking in the box.

Lalchhuanpuia, midfielder for Ramhlun North FC was given The Man of the Match Award.
