Mohammedan Sporting arrive in Gangtok for Sikkim Governor’s Gold Cup!

Mohammedan Sporting practiceKolkata giants Mohammedan Sporting Club will start their campaign in the 36th All India Sikkim Governor’s Gold Cup from the quarterfinal round and would face the winner between Calcutta Port Trust and Nagpur FC on Sunday, October 23.

The Mohammedan Sporting Club team arrived in Gangtok this afternoon and the team will have their first practice session at the Paljor Stadium tomorrow.

In Gangtok, the clubs assistant coach Zaheer Abbas Hamza will be in charge of the team as head coach Mridul Banerjee is unavailable due to personal reasons.

Further Mohammedan Sporting will rely in the tournament mostly on junior players and foreigners on trial as the club has decided to rest some of their regular staters in the Calcutta Football League like Leonce Dodoz, Lancine Toure, Mumtaz Akhtar, Nitesh Chhikara, Dipendu Dowary and Dipankar Das.
