Mohammedan Sporting Club began their campaign in the 2019/20 Calcutta Football League – Premier Division ‘A’ with a 1-1 draw against Aryan Club on Wednesday.
On a rainy afternoon at the Mohammedan Sporting Ground, Aryan Club took the lead through Ademola Kuti in the 11th minute. Nonetheless, Mohammedan Sporting struck back just three minutes later when midfielder Tirthankar Sarkar’s corner went past Aryan Club custodian Subhadip Banerjee.
Mohammedan Sporting will now shift focus bacl to the Durand Cup when they take on Indian Navy in a Group B fixture on August 10 at Howrah Stadium.
