Mohammedan Sporting Club would face the debutantes Southern Samity in a second round Kolkata Zonal Round fixture of the 2016/17 Under-18 I-League on Wednesday. This will be an away game for Mohammedan Sporting.
Having lost 0-1 to United SC in the opener last week, Mohammedan Sporting will be eager to get their campaign back on track. Though Mohammedan Sporting looked good against United SC but they failed to capitalize on their chances, however their coach Susanta Guha stays confident in his team’s ability to fight back.
“I think we played well in last game. We tried our best, we fought but we couldn’t achieve the desired result. But one must understand that a majority of the players are new and it’s not easy to build a team overnight. We need to play a few more games and the team will improve,” said Mohammedan Sporting U-18 coach Susanta Guha.
Southern Samity, on the other hand, made their U-18 I-League debut against Mohun Bagan in a 0-3 loss and they are expected to play for a win tomorrow.
The match at the Howrah Stadium kicks off at 2pm on Wednesday.
