Mohammedan Sporting makes into the Mau Nagarpalika Gold Cup final!

Kolkata’s Mohammedan Sporting Club stormed into the final of the 2016 All India Mau Nagarpalika Gold Cup defeating city rivals Railway FC 2-0 in the last league game of the competition on Sunday.

After a barren first-half, Ivorian duo Leonce Dodoz and Lancine Toure found the back of the net for the Black Panthers at the Faizabad Sports Complex in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

Mohammedan Sporting, who finished the league phase on top with 10 points from four games, will face ONGC of Mumbai in the grand finale on Tuesday, December 27.

Heading into the final, Mohammedan Sporting squad has been strengthened with inclusion of midfielder Dipendu Dowary, while Senior Team Manager Belal Ahmed Khan has also arrived in Varanasi ahead of the big clash.

The final means a big match up of two former I-League sides in Mohammedan Sporting and ONGC set to face each other.
