There is no stopping Mohammedan Sporting. The Kolkata giants won their fifth game of the I-League this season as they brushed aside the challenge of Inter Kashi 2-0 at Ekana Arena in Lucknow on Tuesday, November 21. For Mohammedan Sporting, Eddie Hernandez and Wahengbam Angousana were the scorers.
The away win helped Mohammedan Sporting reach the top spot in the points table. They now have 16 points from six matches. Inter Kashi find themselves in the fifth spot with seven points from five matches, including two wins, one draw and two losses. The loss will deflate Inter Kashi’s confidence after the side had notched up a fine come-from-behind win against Churchill Brothers in their last match.
Mohammedan Sporting’s Honduras forward Eddie Hernandez broke the deadlock in the 44th minute before Angousana found the back of the net in the 49th minute. The goals were enough for the Andrey Chernyshov-coached side to claim all three points.
Mohammedan Sporting will next play against the second-placed side Sreenidi Deccan on December 3 while Inter Kashi will go up against Real Kashmir FC on November 28.
