Odisha FC has made a significant acquisition in the form of Mourtada Fall, who has joined the club on a two-year deal.

The Senegalese defender reunites with his former coach Sergio Lobera, and his arrival is expected to bolster Odisha FC’s defensive line and provide valuable experience to the team. Fall’s signing comes after an impressive stint in the ISL, where he has showcased his abilities time and again as a top-class defender.

One notable achievement that makes Fall stand out is his incredible goal-scoring record for a defender. With 17 goals to his name, he holds the title of the highest-scoring defender in the history of the ISL.

His aerial prowess, timing, and composure in front of the goal have made him a potent threat during set pieces and an asset to any team he represents.

Before joining Odisha FC, Fall enjoyed a successful spell with FC Goa under the guidance of coach Sergio Lobera. Together, they achieved significant milestones, including winning the Super Cup and the ISL League Winners Shield.

He continued his winning streak after moving to Mumbai City FC, where he clinched the League Shield and the ISL title. Mourtada’s experience and leadership qualities have been evident in how he marshals the defense and organizes his teammates, making him a vital player for any team aiming for success.

In addition to his domestic achievements, Fall has also showcased his skills on the continental stage, having participated in the AFC Champions League.

Playing against some of the best clubs in Asia, he has gained valuable experience that will undoubtedly benefit the Kalinga Warriors as they embark on their journey in the upcoming season of the ISL and the AFC Cup.
