Former I-League champions Aizawl FC made sure they leave for their I-League season opener on a high note as they beat Bethlehem Vengthlang FC 1-0 in the second fixture of round 9 of the Mizoram Premier League.
With their Sunday clash against Shillong Lajong FC in mind, Aizawl FC deciding to field a relatively young team against Bethlehem Vengthlang FC. But they did not disappoint as they were the better team thoughout 90 minutes.
The only goal of the match came in the 27th minute when a clearance from Bethlehem Vengthlang FC’s box was claimed in midfield and K. Lalhmangaihkima swung his letf foot from 30 yards out to score a contender for goal of the season.
