Two-time champions Chanmari FC earned a significant victory as they kept their hopes of sealing a semifinal place alive with a 2-0 victory over Electric Veng FC.
Goals from Emanuel H.S. Lalthazuala and Vanlalbiaa Chhangte were enough to seal all three points in a clash which can prove decisive for both teams in the long run.
Electric Veng FC started the more brightly of the two as they controlled possession and carved out a couple of chances. Vanlalremsanga struck the bar early on but their grip on the game faded gradually.
Chanmari FC took the lead right before half-time when Emanuel finished off a poorly dealt corner from Thasiama.
