MPL-7: Chawnpui FC slip up as Bethlehem Vengthlang FC earn win!

Bethlehem Vengthlang FC made up some ground from the bottom of the table as they beat Chawnpui FC 2-0 on Friday, November 2 evening.

First half goals from K. Lalnunpuia and C. Vanlalhmangaiha were enough to pull off and upset as they seek an unlikely comeback from relegation.

Bethelehem Vengthlang FC scored their first goal on the 24th minute after Chawnpui FC had failed to clear H. Lalhlimpuia’s freekick delivery. The ball fell kindly for Lalnunpuia to whip it into the top corner.

Chawnpui FC almost equalised soon after but Bethlehem Vengthlang FC goalkeeper R. Lalhmangaihzuala was there to pull off a great save from Vanlalthanga.

BVT added their second three minutes from halftime as C. Lalhmangaiha was there to finish Lalmuanzova’s delivery.

Chawnpui FC looked for an equaliser in the second half with Bethlehem Vengthlang FC custodian Lalhmaa pulling off a string of saves to keep his side in the game. Vanlalnghenga and Jerry F. Zonunsanga were denied by the man of the match while Lalthlamuana headed Vanlalthanga’s corner just over the bar.

Vanlalthanga then rattled the crossbar from a freekick as lady luck deserted Chawnpui FC on a night where a draw would have put them equal on points with Mizoram Police FC.
