MPL-7: Chhinga Veng FC hang on to overcome Ramhlun North FC!

League leaders and current champions Chhinga Veng FC were relatively fortunate to come away with all three points as they see off a 1-0 victory over Ramhlun North FC in the evening fixture of round 13 at AR Lammual.

Ivorian forward Getch Arthur Diomande proved to be the difference from both sides as it was his strike just before halftime that gave the points for Chhinga Veng FC.

The defending champions enjoyed a quiet first half that saw limited goal threats from both teams. MS Dawngliana and goalscorer Getch looked bright but close calls were few and far between.

The second half opened up slightly with a majority of the pressure coming from Chhinga Veng FC. F. Zosangliana blasted wide after coming one-on-one with Ramhlun North keeper Eddie Zorammawia before PC Laldinpuia had the ball in the net only to be ruled offside.

Ramhlun North missed a chance that looked sure to give them the equaliser as Chhinga Veng FC’s T. Zothanmawia provided an astounding save to deny K. Lalnunzama. Lalliansanga could only direct his header to the crossbar from a corner soon after.

The onslaught carried on till the dying minutes of the game with Alan Lalruatfela finishing inches wide from Lalnunmawia’s cross.
