Chhinga Veng FC can thank their lucky stars in Mizoram Premier League – Round 3 as they narrowly avoided defeat against an incisive Ramhlun North FC in a 2-1 one victory.
The defending champions were a goal down in under 22 minutes when Lalliansanga and Laldingngheta played a beautiful give-and-go to unlock Chhinga Veng FC’s backline which put Laldingngheta through to finish with aplomb.
Chhinga Veng FC battled on to find an equaliser but they struggled to create clear openings until the 70th minute when they won a penalty. Lalromawia stepped up to equalise.
But it had almost been for nothing as Ramhlun North FC themselves were awarded a subsequent penalty. Lalliansanga’s resulting spot kick was saved by the busy Zothanmawia.
Chhinga Veng FC then struck in stoppage time when Ramhlun North FC failed to properly clear the ball from a Lalnuntluanga shot, falling to F. Zosangliana who turned and smashed in a volley.
