Indian Super League franchise Mumbai City FC earlier today on social media made the announcement of the signing of Argentinian winger Matías Defederico for the ISL – Season 3!
26 year old Matías Adrián Defederico was born in Buenos Aires and made his professional debut with CA Huracán in 2007 before moving to Brazilians giants Corinthians but in four years he only made 30 appearances spending time away on loan with CA Independiente and Huracán in his home country Argentina before returning to Huracán in 2013.
Thereafter he played for four clubs around the world, starting in 2014 with Al Dhafra SCC in the United Arab Emirates, CA Nueva Chicago back in Argentina, Eskisehirspor in Turkey and CA San Marcos de Arica in Chile.
“I am really happy to have signed with Mumbai City FC. I’ve heard a lot about the club and the ISL and I am eager to start training with the team and give my all for my teammates and the fans of the club. Mumbai is a great city and I can’t wait for this new challenge in my career,” said Defederico.
Mumbai City coach Alexandre Guimaraes said, “Defederico possesses immense skill and talent, and has played at some of the most challenging leagues in the world. He brings a lot to the team, and we are confident that he will be a huge asset for Mumbai City FC in the upcoming season.”
It will be interesting to see how the left-footed Matías Defederico will acclimatise in India and in the ISL.
