Mumbai City FC face old rivals FC Goa!

The Islanders returned to winning ways after a clinical comeback against Kerala Blasters and will now face fifth placed FC Goa at the GMC Stadium in Bambolim on Monday.

At the halfway stage vs Kerala Blasters, Mumbai City FC were a goal down but a spirited comeback led by Bipin Singh and Adam Le Fondre gave the Islanders a deserved victory in the end. Captain and goalkeeper Amrinder Singh was in top form, producing some mind-boggling saves in a bid to deny the Blasters a way back into the game.

With four draws in their previous five games, FC Goa are still very much in contention to grab a spot in the top-4. With 10 strikes already, Igor Angulo will lead the line for the Gaurs in a fixture that will play a crucial role in the qualification scenarios as the tournament reaches its business end.

With 33 points, Mumbai City FC have already had their best season ever in terms of points but their eyes will be firmly set on three points which will further strengthen their hopes of a top-spot finish.

In team news, influential midfielder Ahmed Jahouh returns from suspension for the Islanders.

Mumbai City FC head coach Sergio Lobera said, “It is important as a coach to have a fuller squad because you have more options. There are no easy games in this competition. Maybe there are favorites to win the league, but in a single game there are no favorites because every game is difficult, every game is a tough game.”

Midfielder Rowllin Borges added, “Everyone is working hard and we are excited for this match. And, I hope we can get a good result tomorrow!”

The game will kick off at 7.30pm IST and will be broadcast on the Star Sports Network, Disney+ Hotstar and Jio TV for all viewers in India.
