Indian Super League franchise NorthEast United FC have announced the signing of midfielder Emil Benny from Gokulam Kerala FC for the 2022/23 season.
21 year old Emil Benny, who was born in Wayanad in Kerala, played at youth level for MSP Football Academy and the Kerala Blasters Under-18 side.
Emil Benny moved to the Kerala Blasters Reserve side before being signed by Gokulam Kerala FC in 2020 and over the last couple of seasons, he has impressed for the Malabarians winning two I-League titles in th process.
NorthEast United FC technical director Ohad Efrat said, “We have been keeping an eye on Emil for the last two seasons in I-League, where he was one of the emerging players of the league.”
“He is a phenomenal talent with the potential to become a member of the national squad in the upcoming seasons. We have high hopes on him.”
