NorthEast United FC sign keeper Wellington on loan from CS Maritimo of Portugal!

NorthEast United FCIndian Super League franchise NorthEast United FC have signed Brazilian goalkeeper Wellington de Lima Gomes on loan from Portuguese LIGA NOS side CS Maritimo from Madeira for the upcoming third edition of the ISL.

26 year old Wellington de Lima Gomes was born in Recife and started his professional football career with ABC FC in January 2010 and in 2012 he spend some time with Duque de Caxias FC on loan before he was sold to Portuguese LIGA NOS side CS Maritimo from Madeira.

There he has not been a regular keeper over the four years he has been at the club often shifting between the first and second and now he has gone on loan to NorthEast United FC with his contract running until June 30, 2017 in Madeira.

NEUFC say about Wellington Lima is blessed with agility, quick reflexes, and excellent shot-stopping abilities.

It will be interesting to see, if he would be competition to India goalkeepers Subrata Pal and T.P. Rehenesh.
