Indian Super League franchise NorthEast United FC have announced the signing of midfielder Rupert Nongrum for the remainder of the 2022/23 season.
26 year old Malki-born Rupert Nongrum joined the Shillong Lajong FC Academy in 2010 and spend five years at the Academy.
The local Meghalaya boy Rupert Nongrum made his professional debut in February 2015 in the I-League and spend the next two seasons at the club with a loan spell at Delhi Dynamos in the Indian Super League – Season 3.
In the 2017 ISL draft, Rupert Nongrum was picked by then champions ATK but he like the club didn’t have the best of seasons despite making 13 appearances.
Rupert Nongrum then returned to the Northeast to sign for NorthEast United FC and he spend another two seasons with the Highlanders before moving back to the I-League to join RoundGlass Punjab FC.
Now Rupert Nongrum returns to the Highlanders for a second stint.
