Nottingham Forest sign Andrey Santos on loan!

Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of exciting young Brazil international Andrey Santos from Chelsea FC.

The 19-year-old arrives from Stamford Bridge on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Santos came through the ranks at boyhood club Vasco da Gama, making his professional debut in March 2021 at the age of 16.

The midfielder helped Vasco to promotion to the Brazilian top-flight in 2022, scoring eight goals in 33 appearances.

Earlier this year, Santos impressively captained Brazil U-20s to success in the South American Championship, finishing the tournament as joint-top goalscorer with six goals.

That form was rewarded with a call-up to the senior team in March, with his full international debut for Brazil coming against Morocco.

Joining Chelsea FC in January, Santos returned to Vasco in March on loan for the remainder of the 2022/23 season, and upon his subsequent return to West London, he featured regularly for Mauricio Pochettino’s side during pre-season.

The Brazilian now moves to Trentside to become Nottingham Forest’s fifth signing of the summer and joins up with the Forest squad for today’s training session.

Andrey Santos said, “I am very happy and excited to be here. I know that Forest is a big club, they play good football and they have good players, which is important for me.”

“It has always been my dream to play in the Premier League and I can’t wait to enjoy playing.”

Forest’s Chief Football Officer, Ross Wilson said, “Everyone knows how talented Andrey is, so naturally we are pleased that amongst the considerable interest in him, he and Chelsea have chosen Nottingham Forest. We are all delighted to have him.”
