Oceania Football Confederation’s Home of Football opens its doors!

The doors of the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Home of Football have opened following a inauguration ceremony in Auckland, New Zealand, that included extensive involvement of the global football community.

“This is the culmination of a long-awaited dream, which has been in the pipeline since 2002,” said OFC President Lambert Maltock prior to cutting the ceremonial ribbon together with FIFA President Gianni Infantino and FIFA Council Member Giorgios Koumas, who was representing UEFA. “This building should have become a reality long before now, but this was down to the old administration. This is a new administration and a new OFC, and we embarked on a new process to renew our organisation, until December 2021 when the dream of a dedicated hub for football here in Oceania became a reality.”

“This new home symbolises our commitment to the growth of football in Oceania,” he added. “FIFA accompanied us from the beginning and stayed with us until the end, and now you can see the reality is here. I am proud. The world was seeing OFC as forgotten, but everyone can see that we are here now.”
