Odisha FC & ATK Mohun Bagan play out goalless draw!

Odisha FC and ATK Mohun Bagan played out a goalless draw at the Kalinga on Thursday, December 15 night.

The Juggernauts dominated both halves of the game despite creating numerous goal scoring chances but failed to score at the end of 90 minutes.

With Nandha and Saul Crespo not being available for the game, Pedro Martin and Isaac Vanmalsawma returned back to the starting eleven. Sahil Panwar replaced Lalrutthara at the left-back position after recovering from a short-term injury.

Odisha FC saw majority of the possession in the first-half. The best opportunity came through Raynier Fernandes’ exquisite dead ball cross to Carlos Delgado who headed it wide.

The visitors came close to drawing first blood in the 42nd minute courtesy of Liston Colaco who was denied by Amrinder Singh at the near post. In the second period Narender Gehlot’s audacious attempt from outside the box was whiskers away from ending up at the back of the net post that was one-way traffic as the hosts kept piling on the pressure.

The Juggernauts came excruciatingly close in the 88th minute as Isaac found Narender at the end of a delightful cross at the far post who headed it back in to Osama Malik who was denied at point blank range by keeper Vishal Kaith.

Odisha FC climbed up a spot on the points table as they sit on fourth place with 19 points. Josep Gombau’s men travel to Kochi next as they take on Kerala Blasters on December 26.
