Odisha FC face Bengaluru FC in their Super Cup opener!

The Kalinga Warriors are home and will take on Bengaluru FC tonight at the Kalinga Stadium for a Kalinga Super Cup group stage tie.

Sergio Lobera’s side will look to improve their performance furthermore after an 11-match unbeaten streak which started with Odisha FC turning the game around against the Blues and beating them 3-2 in the ISL earlier this season at home.

The Kalinga Warriors were without CY in their last game against Jamshedpur FC at home as the playmaker suffered an injury in the game against Hyderabad FC. Sergio will assess the situation and confirm his availability ahead of tonight’s encounter.

Club Captain Amrinder Singh will miss out on today’s game as the India International is away on national team duty for the Asian Cup 2023. The squad had assembled back in Bhubaneswar after the New Year break and has been training hard ahead of their opener against Bengaluru FC.

Former Blues striker Roy Krishna will look to prove himself against his former side as the Fiji International has been in red-hot form netting seven goals in the ISL.

Odisha FC are the defending champions as the Bhubaneswar-based side clinched their first silverware in Calicut beating Bengaluru FC in the finals.

The Blues have had a slow start to the season this year as they sit in the ninth position on the league standings. Sunil Chhetri, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, and Suresh Wangjam Singh will be absent from the Bengaluru FC squad due to national team commitments as well.

Bengaluru FC appointed Gerard Zaragoza midway through the season after the club parted ways with Simon Grayson after the side suffered a heavy defeat against Mumbai City FC. Bengaluru FC is on the rebuild as they are unbeaten in two-games under their new manager and will look to do well in this competition.
