Odisha FC still believe despite facing a four-goal deficit going into their AFC Cup 2023/24 Inter-Zone semifinal second leg on Thursday.
Central Coast Mariners were at their best in last week’s first leg but Odisha FC will be counting on home ground advantage to turn things around.
Head coach Sergio Lobera refused to concede that his Indian Super League side’s AFC Cup dream had been dashed by the heavy first leg defeat.
“We still have a game in this tie. In football and in life, you have to believe till the end,” Lobera had said after the defeat.
The Central Coast Mariners, however, will be determined to get the job done with minimal fuss after their hard work in the first leg.
They will head into the tie in buoyant mood after Saturday’s 3-0 win over Macarthur FC took them to the top of the A-League Men standings.
The winners will face Abdysh-Ata Kant of Kyrgyz Republic in the AFC Cup Inter-Zone final.
