One positive in latest round of Premier League COVID-19 tests!

The Premier League today, September 27 confirmed that between Monday, September 20 and Sunday, September 26, across two rounds of testing, 3.010 players and club staff were tested for COVID-19. Of these, there was one positive test.

In line with testing provisions in healthcare, the Premier League will use lateral flow tests this season, and anyone who tests positive will then take a PCR test to confirm the result.

The Premier League is providing this aggregated information for the purposes of competition integrity and transparency. No specific details as to clubs or individuals will be provided by the League and results will be made public on a weekly basis.

Previous test results

Round 1: August 2-8 – 3.118 tested, with nine testing positive.

Round 2: August 9-15 – 3.231 tested, with 11 testing positive.

Round 3: August 16-22 – 3.060 tested, with 16 testing positive.

Round 4: August 23-29 – 3.020 tested, with six testing positive.

Round 5: August 30 – September 5 – 1.952 tested, with two testing positive.

Round 6: September 6-12 – 3.039 tested, with three testing positive.

Round 7: September 13-19 – 3.154 tested, with three testing positive.
