PSV Eindhoven sign Patrick van Aanholt on loan!

PSV Eindhoven have completed their third deal of the winter window after reaching an agreement with Galatasaray SK for Patrick van Aanholt. The wing back, who has won nineteen caps for the Netherlands, will join PSV Eindhoven on loan for the rest of the season. Van Aanholt was a youth player at the PSV Academy from 2007 until 2009.

“That was at the old training ground”, says Patrick who is happy to be back home. “I just can’t wait to get started. I know a couple of my new team-mates, such as Xavi Simons. I think we have a nice squad that looks strong.” The 32-old-defender has played 426 matches as a professional football player. He has scored 35 goals and provided 34 assists.

PSV had to act quickly to fill the void left by the departure of Philipp Max to Eintracht Frankfurt. “After Philipp had left, we looked to bring in a replacement and soon found Patrick”, explains PSV General Manager Marcel Brands. It was not the first time PSV showed an interest in the left back. “He has been on our radar before and we are delighted with our new signing.”
