RB Leipzig extend contract of midfielder Amadou Haidara!

RB Leipzig have agreed an early contract extension with midfielder Amadou Haidara, keeping him at the club for a further two years until 2025. The 23-year-old has been with RBL since January 2019, scoring seven goals and providing five assists in 80 competitive appearances.

‘Doudou’ Haidara has become a key player during the current season, featuring in 40 of Leipzig’s 45 games so far (29 starts). He has been involved in eight goals across all competitions (6 goals, 2 assists), scoring in each competition at least once.

Haidara has also been a Mali international since October 2017, winning 17 international caps and scoring two goals for his country.

Amadou Haidara said, “The development of not just our team but the entire club over the last years has been phenomenal. I am delighted to carry on being a part of RB Leipzig’s success story. Since joining the club, I have developed a lot as a player and as a person. The club put their faith in me from the very beginning and believed in my ability. Both mine and the team’s journey is by no means over. We still have goals to achieve and I want to keep on playing my part to help RB Leipzig make even more history.”

Florian Scholz, commercial sporting director and CMO, said, “Amadou Haidara fits in perfectly at RB Leipzig. He personifies a lot of what this club stands for: dynamism, passion and heart. With his mentality and his ability, he is an important element in terms of us achieving our goals in the years ahead. We’re delighted that he has agreed to stay at Leipzig until 2025.”

RB Leipzig technical director Christopher Vivell said, “We’re very happy that Amadou Haidara has agreed to extend his contract early until 2025. Doudou has become an integral player and has progressed immensely this season, particularly on a tactical level. His winning mentality and his passion, combined with good technical ability and tactical understanding, are what makes him stand out. At just 23 years of age, he has very much internalised our footballing philosophy, yet still has a great deal of potential that we can harness together.”
