Reliance Foundation Youth Sports (RFYS) football tourney to be held across 30 cities in India!

The Reliance Foundation Youth Sports (RFYS) is expected to see more than 60,000 student footballers from over 3,500 schools and colleges across 30 Indian cities participate this year.

The inaugural RFYS football competition in four different categories last year saw massive participation from schools and colleges across the eight cities of Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati, Pune, Chennai, Kochi, Mumbai and Goa in which the competition was held. This year, Bengaluru, Jamshedpur, Hyderabad, Kozhikode, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Shillong, Aizawl and Imphal have been added to make it a truly pan-India event.

RFYS 2017-18 will kick-off in mid-August 2017 while the grand finale is expected to be held in January 2018, making it one of the longest and biggest campus football programmes ever in India.

Interestingly eight RFYS players were picked by the All India Football Federation scouts for its India Under-23 selection trials for the 2018 AFC U-23 Championship qualifiers and RYFS colleage star Ajith Sivan, a 21-year-old student from Nirmala College, Kochi was picked by his local ISL club Kerala Blasters as a developmental player during the ISL Draft on Sunday.
