RoundGlass Punjab FC sign defender John Johnson!

I-League side RoundGlass Punjab FC have signed defender John Johnson from ATK Mohun Bagan ahead of the 2021/22 season.

32 year old Middlesbrough-born John James Johnson started his career with his home town club Middlesbrough FC, where he played for their youth sides and also made his professional debut with them, but he spend time on loan at Tranmere Rovers and Northampton Town before joining Northampton Town in 2010 for three full seasons.

And then John Johnson left English shores in 2013 to join newly formed club Bengaluru FC in India to spend five highly successful seasons with the Blues.

John Johnson then left for ATK and signed a three year contract in 2018 and was a regular in that campaign but since then over the last two seasons, he has been rather a fringe player under head coach Antonio Lopez Habas.

Now John Johnson returns to play under head coach Ashley Westwood, who was his first coach when he came to India.
