Salgaocar FC Juniors beat Holy Cross of Arambol 6-1 in Goa First Division!

Salgaocar FC Juniors beat Holy Cross of Arambol with a tennis like score of 6-1 in their GFA First Division match played at the Ambelim Ground.

It was Salgaocar FC right from the first whistle, they pushed into attack. In the 7th minute Liston Colaco was brought down outside the box and he took charge of the free kick, Liston made no mistake in curling the ball into the far right corner of the goal to give the Greens the lead.

In the 10th minute, Jason Barbosa stepped up to take a corner, whose ball was aimed at the first post but it found an Arambol defender clearing the ball into his own net.

Jason and Liston were again in action in setting up the third goal for Salgaocar FC, where Jason set-up a ball for Liston who made no mistake by calmly placed his shot into the back of the net in the 15th minute. The half time score was 3-0 in favour of Salgaocar FC.

In the second half Holy Cross of Arambol surprised everyone when their free kick was perried by the Salgaocar FC keeper and a lurking Dalos Pednekar tapped the ball into the goal to reduce the deficit.

Salgaocar FC’s Ronaldo Oliviera added his name to the scoresheet in the 65th minute with beautiful volley effort.

Denil Rebello blasted a header in to make it 5-1 in the 79th minute and Jason Barbosa added the final goal in the 80th minute to make it 6-1 as it stayed that way until the end of the match.
