Salgaocar FC Juniors Domnick Soares managed to pull one back for the Greens who drew with UC Telaulim in their GFA First Division match played at the Ambelim ground.
It was a match played with just a referee and an assistant referee, where the linesmen duty was carried out by the match commissioner.
Both the teams came to play with all guns blazing to try to take the top spot, but the first half failed to produce any goals. Keepers Rohan and Ozen were kept busy right from the first blow of the whistle, but despite all that the first half ended goalless.
In the second half, UC Telaulim were awarded a penalty when the ball struck the hand of a Salgaocar FC player in the crowded box, which was converted in style and power as placed in the middle with the keeper diving to his left.
But the Salgaocar FC Juniors did not let this goal stop them from finding the equaliser. It was Domnick Soares’ shot from an acute angle who rescued a point for the Greens as the match ended 1-1.
