Second batch of AFC Football Management Certificate participants set to gain valuable knowledge!

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) welcomed the second batch of participants to the AFC Football Management Certificate (FMC) online course, which was introduced in October 2021.

The 2nd edition of the FMC, as with the first, gives participants the opportunity to be part of the Asian football family via a comprehensive, five-month curriculum aimed at nurturing football-specific skillsets in nine core areas of football management. It is designed to impart industry knowledge and strengthen individual capabilities to plan, execute and monitor day-to-day operations.

In his opening online address, AFC General Secretary Dato’ Windsor John said: “As aspiring leaders of football, FMC participants play a key role in realising our future ambitions to raise the standards of the Asian game.

“It is a future that requires them to commit towards a lifelong journey of continuous learning, to showcase utmost professionalism and to always uphold the principles of good governance.”

He also thanked participants for their desire to contribute to the development of football in Asia and wished them much success during their five-month journey.

The FMC, which marks a milestone in the AFC’s delivery of education programmes, was introduced under the AFC Academic Centre of Excellence (ACE) launched in September 2021.

Participants will undergo 290 hours of study in core modules that comprise the Organisation of World Football, Strategic Management, Financial Management, Income Generation, Media & Communications, Event Management, Operational Management, Human Resource Management and Child Safeguarding.
