Second edition of the AFC Internship Programme draws to an end!

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) successfully concluded its second edition of the AFC Internship programme when the three interns representing the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), the Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (FABD), and the Tajikistan Football Federation (TFF) respectively, shared their final presentations on Monday.

The three-month long programme is one of the many initiatives launched by the AFC aimed at developing the future leaders of Asian football.

With development of the Confederation’s Member Associations and Regional Associations forming one of the key pillars of the AFC’s Vision and Mission, the initiative proved to be an excellent platform for the interns to gain hands-on experience from some of the most renowned experts on the Continent.

The three interns underwent an intense training period and were assigned to the Competitions and Football Events Division (CFED) and the Member Associations Division where they got the chance to observe and learn the administrative and operational activities of the AFC which in turn enabled them to expand their knowledge on the best practices in football governance.

Reflecting on the experience of the learning process, Yujal Shrestha of the ANFA said: “I believe this experience will be invaluable in our professional as well as personal development.”

“Learning from some of the best minds in the industry for the last three months has helped me hone my skills and now that we are at the end of this journey, I can confidently share my knowledge and help enhance the infrastructure in my own organisation.”

The capacity building effort, which has been curated in a way to include a perfect balance of practical as well as structured theoretical learning, aims to provide the participants with the tools and opportunities that will be necessary for them to impart their knowledge and contribute to strengthen the administrative standards in their respective associations.
