Serie A & WeWorld launch campaign to stop violence against women!

Lega Serie A and WeWorld will once again this year promote on all Serie A pitches the sixth edition of the national awareness campaign to fight violence against women #UNROSSOALLAVIOLENZA.

All matches of the 23rd Championship Round will be coloured red: the symbol of the #UNROSSOALLAVIOLENZA campaign, in fact, recalls the red card to give a strong signal of support to all women victims of violence and to help them fight the fear they live every day.

The players and referees will take the field with a red mark on their faces and the captains of all the teams will wear the symbolic armband of the day. In each stadium, the ball podium and the substitution board will be customised with the initiative sticker, while the campaign spot will be broadcast on the big screens to symbolically emphasise that the red card to be shown is the one against all forms of violence against women. On television will be shown a graphic dedicated to #unrossoallaviolenza.

“It is essential to continue to keep the attention focused on this dramatic phenomenon, not only in November, on the occasion of the World Day Against Violence Against Women, but every single day of the year,” said Lega Serie A President Lorenzo Casini.

“This is why we have decided to promote our campaign also out of the usual context, to remind everyone that gender violence has to be fought every day and that we all have to take the lead in defending women victims of these deplorable acts. I would like to thank our clubs, players and referees, who once again show great commitment and with their example help to make everyone aware of this very important issue. For six years now we have been colouring all the pitches red for the #unrossoallaviolenza initiatives, and we will continue to strengthen them, as long as there are women who need to be defended and to show that they are not alone.”
