Shanghai SIPG FC vs Buriram United’s AFC Champions League qualifier behind closed doors!

Following discussions with the Chinese Football Association (CFA), the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has confirmed that the AFC Champions League Play-off tie between Shanghai SIPG FC and Buriram United will be played behind closed doors because of the outbreak of coronavirus in China.

The CFA confirmed the decision in regard to the match which will be played on January 28, 2020.

In a statement from CFA on the official news agency Xinhua it stated, 2Considering that coronavirus cases have appeared in many places of our country, and in order to reduce cross infection from crowd gathering, the Chinese Football Association, after consultation with the Asian Football Confederation, competing teams and Shanghai Football Association, decided that the match will be held as scheduled without spectators.”
