Shillong Lajong FC will meet Pune based I-League rivals DSK Shivajians FC in their last Federation Cup – Group B match at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Friday at 4pm.
Thangboi Singto’s young brigade failed to register victories in their last two outings, going down by a similar 2-3 scoreline against Bengaluru FC and Mohun Bagan AC on May 8 and 10 respectively. So far, the goals for Lajong FC have come from Yuta Kinowaki who scored one goal each against Bengaluru FC and Mohun Bagan while Samuel Lalmuanpuia netted one versus Bengaluru FC.
Meanwhile, DSK Shivajians lost their first game to Mohun Bagan 0-4 on May 8 and scored a shock 2-0 defeat against Bengaluru FC on Wednesday. Juan Quero scored a brace in the 71st and 76th minute of the match and they picked up their first three points from the Federation Cup Group B.
It was in Pune on April 8 when the two teams last played each other in the I-League. Shillong Lajong FC emerged victorious after Redeem Tlang scored a goal in stoppage time to seal all three points from the game.
As it currently stands, Mohun Bagan are at the top of the Group B table with 6 points (GD +5), Bengaluru FC are second with 3 points (GD -1), DSK Shivajians FC are also on 3 points as well (GD -2) and Shillong Lajong FC are on zero points (GD -2).
