Soccerex Global Convention 2016: First Edition Conference Programme launched!

SoccerexSoccerex are delighted to launch the first edition of the conference programme for the Soccerex Global Convention 2016 taking place at Manchester Central Convention Complex between September 26 to 28, 2016.

Delivered over three different conference facilities; The Studio, The Academy and The Love Football Zone, this year’s programme is filled with industry leading content with an agenda that will focus on the five core topics of governance, football finance and the transfer market, maximising fan experience and engagement, rights holder commercial activity and player performance, with each topic supported by a series of workshop presentations and in depth panel sessions.

The Studio will be bringing some of the biggest names in football together to discuss the game’s hottest topics. Speakers already confirmed include former Manchester United goalkeeper and current Director at Ajax, Edwin van der Sar, and former Liverpool manager and current Head of Global Football at Red Bull, Gerard Houllier, who will be speaking on the ‘Academies: A Foundation for Success’ panel. Other confirmed speakers for The Studio include LaLiga President Javier Tebas; NFL Senior Vice-President, International, Mark Waller; ITV Director of Sport Niall Sloane and Football League CEO Sean Harvey.

Located on the exhibition floor, The Academy will be the learning hub of the Convention, focusing on delivering expert content to delegates through sector-specific presentations and panel discussions. Representatives from organisations around the world will be on hand to give their cutting edge insight on the game’s core areas of business. This year, The Academy boasts a captivating lineup that includes Leicester City Head of Academy Sports Science, Kevin Paxton, Atletico Madrid Managing Director, Global Business Development, Sales & Marketing, Javier Martinez, LaLiga Managing Director of Innovation and Global Development, Ignacio Martinez Trujillo and NFL UK Head of Marketing, Sarah Swanson. The Academy will also provide a platform for organizations to showcase their best practices within the industry with presentations and panel discussions from the likes of Facebook, Vauxhall, UEFA, Samsung Electronics, Sports Interactive and Beyond Sport.

An additional feature of the The Academy is the, new for 2016, Academy Networking Lounge, that will host focused networking sessions linked to the grouped block of content that precede them, offering enhanced and better targeted networking opportunities.

The Corporate Social Opportunity (CSO) Zone has been rebranded this year to cover broader aspects of football rather than just the elite men’s game. The new ‘Love Football Zone’ will showcase how football has made a positive impact on the lives of different people, whether that is women’s, grassroots or disability football. The Zone promises to lift the lid on some of the amazing community projects ongoing in both the UK and across the world. Further information and programme details for the Zone will be released in due course.
