Sreenidi Deccan FC seek home comforts as they host Delhi FC in Matchweek 10!

Sreenidi Deccan FC return to base after six consecutive away matches as they host Delhi FC at the Deccan Arena in a Matchweek 10 I-League clash on Monday, December 11. The Deccan Warriors drew 0-0 with Real Kashmir FC in their previous match while Delhi FC defeated Namdhari FC 2-1.

Head Coach Carlos Vaz Pinto and defender Mohammed Sajid Dhot addressed the media ahead of the clash. “We had set some specific goals for the team to achieve in these six away matches and I feel that we have achieve them,” said Vaz Pinto. “We deserved more in the loss against Mohammedan and the draw with Real Kashmir but I was very happy with the commitment and fight shown by the boys.”

Delhi FC are the second highest scorers of the I-League after Sreenidi Deccan FC but the visitors have also conceded a high number of goals. “Delhi FC are a team which likes to attack and they have the mentality to always try and create chances with their quality foreign and Indian players,” said Vaz Pinto. “We know that if we close the right spaces we will also get space to attack but it will be a tough match.”

Sajid Dhot made his debut in the previous match, coming on as a substitute for the injured Abhishek Ambekar and the defender was pleased to finally get back on to the field. “It feels really good to be back on the pitch once again and all credit goes to our staff for helping me get there,” he said. “As players, we always have to keep working hard and wait for the right moment and give our best when that moment comes.”

The match will kick off at 7pm IST on Monday and will be telecast live on Eurosport India, the Indian Football YouTube channel and the FanCode App.
