In the Taca Under-20 Goa, Salgaocar FC Junior found their winning ways after beating title contenders Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim 6-3 in an high intense match at Duler Stadium in Mapusa on Tuesday.
Cavelossim took an early lead but Andrus John brought back Salgaocar FC back on level terms in the 14th minute. It was a fast paced encounter and Devendra Murgaocar made full use of it as he netted the second and third goals of the Green Brigade making it 3-1 with a double strike in the 38th and 39th minute. The half time score read 3-1 in favour of Salgaocar FC.
On resumption Lalit Tariyal came off the bench and added to the score making it 4-1. But Cavelossim reduced the margin with a penalty and a quick reply making it 4-3. But in the 73rd minute Lalit Tariyal calmed the nerves of Salgaocar FC with another goal making it 5-3, who then provided an assist to Devendra Murgaocar late in the game who made no mistake in beating the rival goalkeeper for the final 6-3 scoreline.
