AFC U-19 Women’s Championship qualifiers: Iran expect a tough fight from India!

afc-u19-womens-championship-qualifiersIran U-19 Women’s National Coach Mahndz Amir Shaghaghi said she expects tough competition when they face India U-19 Women’s Team in the opening match of the AFC U-19 Championship 2017 Qualifiers at the Vietnam Training Centre ground on Wednesday (November2, 2016).

“India are a good Team and so are Vietnam. We expect a tough competition in the Group,” she said at the Official pre-match Press Conference.

“We have been preparing for this competition since the last six months and we headed into Hanoi on back of two good competitions in Thailand and Uzbekistan respectively,” she informed. “We know it will be tough but we are ready,” she added.

Reflecting on the weather conditions, Mahndz stated that they are “used to” such conditions.

“Unlike back home it’s a bit humid out here. But this sort of weather is nothing new. We will adjust accordingly. I hope the weather won’t cause any problem,” she maintained.

India Head Coach Sajid Dar also echoed Mahndz’s statement. “It was raining when we landed yesterday. But it’s not in our hands. We have to cope up to the weather conditions. I only hope the weather doesn’t play any spoilsport,” he stated.

Sajid also congratulated Vietnam U-19 Men’s Team for qualifying for the U-20 World Cup.

Vietnam’s Coach Mai Duc Chung informed that his Team has also been training for the Championship since “one month.”

“We have been together for a month. That’s not long especially when you are pitted against strong Teams. We need to understand the objectives of our rival Teams,” he opined.

“The Men’s U-19 have created history. We hope it inspires the Women’s U-19 and all other National Teams of Vietnam. Each Team have set their goals in the Competition. We will try to achieve ours,” he quipped.
