Talented Julian Rijkhoff leaves Borussia Dortmund for Ajax Amsterdam!

U-19 player Julian Rijkhoff is leaving Borussia Dortmund and moving to Dutch top-flight outfit Ajax Amsterdam with immediate effect. Both clubs have agreed not to disclose the terms of the transfer.

The 19-year-old joined BVB from the Ajax U-17s in January 2021. He has since scored 37 goals in 38 appearances in the A-Junior (U-19) Bundesliga West and twice finished as the top scorer for coach Mike Tullberg’s U-19s. Rijkhoff twice reached the final of the German A-Junior Championship and won the title with the U-19s in the 2021/22 season. The striker scored 13 goals in 24 appearances in the UEFA Youth League.

Lars Ricken, Director of the Youth Performance Centre, said: “Julian played an impressive role during his time in the U19 side and made a significant contribution to the team’s success. We would like to thank him for his commitment and professional attitude. We respect his decision and wish him all the best and every success in his future sporting career. We’re confident he’ll continue to successfully demonstrate his strengths and talent at his new club.”
