TECNO Mobile, Official Global Handset and Tablet Partner of Manchester City, is supporting a phone-based communication and awareness programme in Kolkata, India to provide vital messaging and support to families during the COVID-19 crisis.
The programme forms a key part of Cityzens Giving partner, Magic Bus India Foundation’s COVID-19 response efforts across the country.
TECNO Mobile’s support will enable young leaders in Kolkata to make regular phone calls to over 10,000 programme participants and their families in the city over the next 8 weeks. During the calls, young leaders will provide children and parents with vital health information and ways to stay positive and safe during the crisis, signposting to additional support where needed. Young leaders will also run fitness and football sessions for families via video calls.
TECNO Mobile are also providing handsets to the young leaders who will be documenting their experiences of staying connected in a crisis and continuing to support their communities remotely.
