Teenage Lucas Bergvall to join Tottenham Hotspur!

Tottenham Hotspur have announced that they have reached agreement for Lucas Bergvall to join the Club from Swedish Allsvenskan side Djurgarden IF.

The midfielder has agreed a deal that will run until summer 2029 and he will join Tottenham Hotspur on July 1, 2024.

Turning 18 yesterday (Friday, February 2), Lucas has achieved a great deal in his short career so far. He was only 16 when he first played for IF Brommapojkarna (BP) in the Superettan, the second tier of Swedish football, and featured 11 times as BP gained promotion to the Allsvenskan in 2022.

His performances caught the eye of clubs across Europe and Lucas opted to stay in Stockholm and join his brother, Theo, at Djurgarden. Lucas progressed again last season, making 25 appearances (out of 30) as his side finished fourth in the Allsvenskan. He played 29 times in all competitions, scoring three goals, taking his tally of senior appearances in Sweden to 42.

On the international stage, Lucas is a senior Sweden international, making his debut in January against Estonia. He has also represented his country at Under-17, U-19 and U-21 levels.
