The Champions of India, Jamshedpur FC are back home in Jamshedpur!

The Jamshedpur Football Club first team players have arrived at the steel city for the pre-season preparations ahead of the Indian Super League 2022-23 season. The “Men of Steel” are back at the JRD Tata Complex for the first time after being the “Champions of India” and two years of Indian Super League (ISL) in the bio bubble.

On the homecoming of the defending Indian Super League Shield winners, the football fans across the city and state have geared up to cheer and enjoy their favorite superstars back at the Furnace. The Red Miners are quite excited to meet and greet the new signings.

The squad is scheduled to start their pre-season training on 20th August under newly appointed gaffer Aidy Boothroyd. Speaking on the players arrival Aidy said, “It feels great to see the squad here. I am very excited to get back to the field with this bunch. We have top notch facilities here in terms of the training field, floodlights, gymnasium, our accommodation, etc. We are planning to start our training sessions in the next few days and will have a 6 week pre-season with 6-7 friendly games. We have to work hard for the long season ahead and am looking forward to building up a good rapport with the players and staff.”

Jamshedpur FC CEO Mukul Choudhari said, “It feels significant to have our players back at the steel city. The last two years have been very tough for all of us. We won the shield but couldn’t celebrate it properly with the fans. It’s a moment of joy to finally have the squad back where they belong which is at home in Jamshedpur. We are looking forward to a fantastic season and to have the joyous and vociferous fans in the Furnace for every home game. For the first time ever, we will be playing one of our games against the Jamshedpur Sporting Association All Star team which will have the best players from the JSA League. It is an opportunity for them to exhibit their talent in front of the first team.”

ISL is tentatively slated to begin in the second week of October 2022.
