Ngangom Bala Devi is the torchbearer for women’s football in India. She played for Scottish giants Glasgow Rangers FC until recently and she is the first Indian woman to play professional football in Europe. Born and raised in Manipur, she is one of the many from Manipur making international headlines in sports, the most recent being Mirabai Chanu at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
