The Mizoram Football Symposium 2021 held!

The Mizoram Football Association and Mizoram Youth Commission collaborated today, November 5 to organise a Football Symposium at Synod Conference Centre in Aizawl. A General Body Meeting involving MFA and District FA leaders also took place in the afternoon.

The symposium was composed of studies in Coach education and Players’ registration by Samson Ramengmawia, Refereeing Education by AIFF match commissioner R. Malsawma and Grassroots & Youth Development by Hmingthansanga.

The resource persons addressed the need for substantial developments in coaching, refereeing and grassroots development to reach the next level in terms of football development. A Q&A session also took place in the programme.

MFA President Lal Thanzara conducted the special general body meeting in the afternoon in which the plans of the rest of the 2021-2022 season were discussed. MFA Hony. Secretary Lalnghinglova Hmar gave an in-depth report on the effects of Covid 19 on football during the last year, and of the efforts of the Men’s and Women’s senior team in the preparation for their upcoming tournaments.

There are plans for the later half of the 2021-22 season calendar to take place depending on the Covid situation of the state, although district-wise competition is to be withheld until at least the new year. However, District FAs were granted authority to conduct competitions as per their discretion within their respective jurisdiction.

District-wise competition is tartgeted for February of next year depending on the Covid situation of the state.

The MFA Cup will be hosted by Siaha DFA, the Junior Boys Under 17 championship will be hosted by Saitual DFA while the Women’s championship is to be hosted by Hnahthial DFA.

A book about the updated rules of football called ‘Inkhel En Tinuamah’ authored by Laldawngliana, MFA Executive Committee was also released at the Football Symposium.
