The Supervisory Board of VfB Stuttgart is restructured!

In order to be able to professionally accompany, monitor and promote the work of the Executive Board, the Supervisory Board of VfB Stuttgart 1893 AG has elected Tanja Gönner, who has been appointed by the club, as the new Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board, Peter Schymon will continue to be Deputy Chairwoman and President Claus Vogt will remain a member of the Supervisory Board.

As a complement to the main shareholder, VfB Stuttgart 1893 e.V., the global brand alliance from Württemberg has created the financial conditions for VfB, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche to future-proof and further develop VfB Stuttgart.

Tanja Gönner, who is the first woman to head the supervisory board of VfB Stuttgart, has the necessary personal and professional competence with her experience as a former minister of the state of Baden-Württemberg, long-standing spokesperson of the board of a federal company and acting chief executive of the Federation of German Industries. As a member of the Supervisory Board appointed by VfB e.V. in 2022, she is also in a position to represent the interests of the club members in a strong leadership manner.

Tanja Gönner, new Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of VfB Stuttgart and lifelong member of VfB Stuttgart 1893 e.V., said, “I am delighted about the great trust placed in me and the new challenge. I assure all members that I will represent the interests of the association in all important decisions in close cooperation with them. In doing so, I attach great importance to intensive cooperation with the Presidium and the Executive Board. Together with the supervisory board members of our partners Mercedes-Benz and Porsche, I am of the opinion that in the future the ideal appointment of the chairman of the supervisory board should be a member of the association’s executive committee who was directly elected by the members and has the necessary professional and personal qualifications.”
