When the DFB team meets the Ukrainian national team for the ninth time on June 12, history will be made in Bremen: On the one hand, it will be the 1.000th international match of the German national team in international history, and on the other hand, the charity match is intended to send a clear signal for peace and international understanding and against war and destruction.
Eight days later (June 20), Hansi Flick’s team will host Schalke against the Colombian national team, who are currently just three places behind Germany in 17th place in the FIFA World Ranking. In the previous four meetings between the two teams, the one-time Copa América winners have never won against Germany.
