The AIFF Elite Academy blasted eight goals past a hapless Dempo SC in an 8-0 win in the U-18 I-League at the Benaulim Ground in Goa on Sunday, February 5.
The AIFF Colts attacked from the word go and in the 21st minute Rohmingthanga’s shot rattled the woodwork to ring the danger bells for Dempo SC. Four minutes later Ragav played a one-two with Rahim Ali and burst onto the goal, only to beat the goalkeeper and give the Colts the lead.
In the 40th minute the Colts doubled their lead when Rahim tapped home from hand-shaking distance from a cross as the half-time scoreline read 2-0 in favour of the AIFF Elite Academy.
The floodgates in the second half opened seconds into play when Namgyal’s rasping shot from more than 25 yards out saw the light of day and crashed into the back of the net to make it 3-0.
In the 54th minute Bhutia found Ragav with an exquisite through ball. Ragav finished with ease to score AIFF Colt’s fourth for the day.
Biswa added another to AIFF’s goal scoring tally in the 67th minute when Rahim’s ball found him clear of the defensive mix to make it 5-0.
Goals by Biswa in the 74th, 83rd and 86th minute added more gloss to the scoreline in a scintillating second half attacking performance by the AIFF Colts as the full-time scoreline read 8-0 with Biswa scoring a clean hattrick with his four goal in total.
